Delectable Healthy Snacks You Can Whip Yourself

You Can Make These Really Nourishing and Scrumptious Snacks for Yourself

If you are wanting a snack, what’s the first thing you reach for? Cookies or fries? What about trying to become healthy? It can be tough to find snacks that are both nutritious and yummy particularly if you are used to reaching for highly sugared or salted snacks. Keep reading to learn how to whip snacks that are nourishing and that gratify your cravings. The following snacks are healthy for you and won’t impede your weight watching attempts. Doesn’t that seem too good to be really true? Keep reading!

Super delicious dipped pretzels are a fantastic snack that you can consume that won’t make you feel like you are limited in terms of calorie count or portion size while still eating your favorite tastes. Microwave a half a cup’s worth of semi sweet chocolate until it is melted. This will take roughly two minutes to accomplish and ensure that you stir it very well before you use it. Dip low-sodium pretzels into the melted chocolate until they are well covered and then lay them out on parchment in a single layer. Cool them at room temperature for more or less an hour or in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

Tasty Tortilla Chips are a snack that you can put together all by yourself at home…no joke! Tortilla chips, when purchased at the store, are ordinarily loaded and coated in salt and other awful ingredients and are not at all healthy. For this yummy snack, you’ll use corn tortillas to put together your own chips. Use at least ten corn tortillas and cut them in six parts. Place the corn tortilla pieces onto a baking sheet and then spray it with a mix of canola oil, a quarter teaspoon of chili powder, a half a teaspoon of cumin, and a quarter teaspoon of sea salt. Allow each piece to be coated entirely and then bake all of the pieces together in a 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes. Allow them to cool completely before trying to eat them.

Make your own caramel corn! You probably think that, due to the extremely high sugar and calorie count, there’s no way that the caramel corn can be good for you. Check out this (much better) recipe as a substitute. In a big stock pot, melt two tablespoons of butter and mix in two tablespoons of brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt, and a tablespoon of water. Use a whisk to mix all the ingredients and then add seven cups of air popped popcorn into the large pot. You can even sprinkle a little lightly salted peanuts if you prefer. Stir until the popcorn and peanuts (if you added them) are thoroughly coated and then let all of it cool before you try to consume it.

If you don’t mind doing a little bit of research, you can find all sorts of healthy recipes that give you the tastes you crave but have far fewer calories and bad ingredients. There are plenty of fantastic tasting choices for snacks that are both healthy and delicious. You only need to find the patience to search them out and make them yourself. Staying in good health doesn’t have to be tough. You have the power to do it!
